WSF Windshifter installed before the Ballistic Separator โ€“ Italy ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น

For this packaging waste sorting plant, Nihot advised a unique and highly effective solution: installing a WSF windshifter upstream of the ballistic separator to extract plastic film and significantly improve 2D/3D performance.

About the WSF Windshifter
The WSF is a dedicated solution designed for light packaging waste applications where only plastic film and foil need to be removed or recovered. Its compact footprint and flexible configuration make it ideal for:
โ€ข Upgrading existing lines (retrofits)
โ€ข Improving ballistic separator (2D/3D) efficiency
โ€ข Enhancing optical sorter performance
โ€ข Increasing efficiency of manual sorting (QC)
โ€ข Stabilizing downstream material flow

How it works:
The WSF integrates:
โ€ข A recirculation fan,
โ€ข A separation unit (windshifter), and
โ€ข A Rotary Air Separator (RAS) or Combi Separator, depending on the film load.
