Precise plastic film extraction from packaging waste

Nihot has recently supplied a WSF windshifter to a packaging waste sorting installation in Italy for the extraction of plastic film from the waste stream.

The WSF is a dedicated windshifter for packaging waste applications where only plastic film and foil need to be removed or recovered.

The WSF combines three key elements:

  • A recirculation fan
  • A separation unit (the actual windshifter)
  • And either a Rotary Air Separator (RAS) or a Combi Separator

In this project, we installed a Combi Separator for maximum efficiency.

  • Handles larger volumes of aspirated plastic film with ease
  • Maintenance-free design for maximum uptime
  • Clean discharge of aspirated plastic film
  • Pressure-less separation of air and film for safe and efficient operation

The result? Smart separation, reliable performance, reduced maintenance and optimized recovery of plastic film.
