A recycling facility in Ireland is processing mixed C&D/C&I waste using a smart combination of DDS, SDS and WSF windshifters.

Process Configuration:
The system is designed as follows:
DDS 1400 – Installed on the oversize screen (60–450 mm)
The DDS performs a true 3-way separation:
• Heavy fraction – clean hardcore (inert, stones, glass etc.)
• Mid-heavy fraction – wood and rigid plastics etc.
• Light fraction – RDF

WSF 1400 – Installed on the light fraction conveyor (LWC) of the DDS windshifter
To further optimize the light fraction, a WSF windshifter removes plastic film from the RDF stream.
The extracted film is discharged directly into a baler for efficient handling and transport.
This combination of a DDS and WSF creates a 4-way separation in one pass!

SDS 1000 – Installed on the mid-fraction screen (10–60 mm)
The SDS uses negative pressure (aspiration) to create:
• Clean stone / debris fraction
• Light RDF fraction

This configuration ensures maximum recovery from C&D and C&I waste, producing:
✔ Clean hardcore
✔ Recovered wood fraction
✔ High-quality RDF
✔ Clean 10–60 mm debris fraction
