SDi windshifter

The SDi is a semi-mobile, plug-and-play windshifter using industry-leading negative pressure technology to sort a wide range of material by density.

The SDi series is available in two models, semi-mobile and stationary, with an integrated dust filtration system, an electrical cabinet, support and for abrasive materials with a wear resistant (WR) configuration. Usable for virtually all kinds of solid waste up to 200 mm such as: Commercial and Industrial waste (C&I), Commercial & Demolition waste (C&D), Municipal Solid waste (MSW),  Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF), Automotive Shredder Residue (ASR), compost, and more.

Principle separating process

The picture below shows the operating principle of the SDi. The two-way fraction is created with an air separation point and a splitter drum, at which the heavy material is separated from the light material.

DDS windshifter producing high quality SRF

The customer, N+P Subcoal®, is more than pleased with the performance of the windshifter. The line is processing pre-separated C&I/MSW waste and the DDS windshifter adds value by protecting the secondary shredder, removing inert and creating high calorific value SRF (used in a kiln or boiler).

One DDS windshifter = three fractions

1 windshifter = 3 fractions The DDS windshifter is specifically designed to separate a waste stream into three fractions (heavy, mid-heavy and light) all done in one pass. It was originally designed for C&D and C&I recovery applications by separating the input into: stones, wood and RDF material.
