Nihot windshifter is once again up and running in the United States!

The SDi 800 windshifter is operational in Automotive Shredder Residue (ASR), specifically eddy current (ECS) drops, with a 10-50 mm fraction size (3/8”-2”).

To reduce the amount of waste to be disposed of (more than 50% with less than 1% metal loss) and to double the metallic content from 14% to 28%, the windshifter is performing at optimal efficiency by removing light plastics and fluff (light fraction) from the ASR waste stream. For the first time, the customer successfully processed this stream through a sensor sorting system, whereas it was previously sent to landfill. As a result, the return on investment (ROI) was achieved in less than a year.

The Nihot windshifters are characterized by using negative pressure (aspiration) to separate waste into a heavy and light fraction. This method has proven to provide the most precise separation efficiency.
