3-Way Separation with the DDS 2000 Windshifter in Italy
Short video in this post to show the DDS 2000 in action

At a recent reference visit in Italy, our DDS 2000 windshifter – the largest in our portfolio – proved its efficiency in processing rejected plastics material from a plastics plant, with very positive customer feedback.
With just one machine, three clean fractions are produced:
- Light fraction – recovered plastics film for RDF
- Mid-heavy fraction – recovered rigid plastics
- Heavy fraction – removed inert
This showcases the power of the DDS: turning waste into value with precise separation for clean film and rigid plastics recovery.
How it works
Nihot windshifters are characterized by using negative pressure (aspiration) to separate waste into heavy and light fractions – a method proven to deliver the highest levels of separation efficiency.
The DDS goes one step further: a unique 3-way separation into heavy, mid-heavy, and light fractions – meaning 1 windshifter = 3 fractions!
